Introduction to Networking Technologies (CNT 100 at Yavapai College) - Year 1 - 1st Semester
Grade: 10-12. Fee: None. Credit: 0.5 CTE/elective. Duration: Semester. Students will receive Concurrent credit (3 credits) at Yavapai College. Class Limit: 20 students

This course is an introduction to technologies, terminologies, and skills used in the world of data networking. Emphasis is placed on practical applications of networking and computer technology to real-world problems, including home and small business network setup.

A+ Computer Technician Certification (CNT 110 at Yavapai College) - Year 1 - 2nd Semester
Grade: 10-12. Fee: None. Credit: 0.5 CTE/elective. Duration: 1 Semester. Students will receive Concurrent credit (4 credits) at Yavapai College. Class Limit: 20 students

Install, configure, support, and troubleshoot personal computers. Course emphasis is on PC hardware and installation, operation, and upgrade procedures. Focus on practical networking in a PC environment along with server hardware maintenance and troubleshooting. This course will assist the student prepare for the Comp TIA A+ Certification Exam. This course along with CNT 120, prepares the student for the Comp TIA Server+ Certification Exam. Preparedness Recommendations: Experience using a computer keyboard and accessing the Internet with a web browser.

Network+ Certification (CNT 115 at Yavapai College) - Year 2 - 1st Semester
Grade: 10-12. Fee: None. Credit: 0.5 CTE/elective. Duration: Semester. Students will receive Dual Enrollment credit (3 credits) at Yavapai College. Class Limit: 20 students

A broad range of networking technologies is examined. Topics include network media, topologies, protocols, operating systems, network management, and security. This course will assist the student prepare for the Comp TIA Network+ Certification Exam. Prerequisite: CNT 110 or Instructor Consent.

Exploring Network Operating Environments (CNT 120 at Yavapai College) - Year 2 - 2nd Semester
Grade: 10-12. Fee: None. Credit: 0.5 CTE/elective. Duration: Semester. Students will receive Dual Enrollment credit (4 credits) at Yavapai College. Class Limit: 20 students

This course consists of intensive introduction to multi-user, multi-tasking network operating environments. Characteristics of the Linux, Windows 2000, 2003, and XP network operating systems will be discussed. Course content includes networking concepts, network services, installation procedures, and security issues, back-up procedures and remote access. Preparedness Recommendations: Basic experience using Microsoft Windows operating systems.
