Welcome!

Mission Statement

The Student Community Action Council seeks to help students find their passion, make service an integral part of school culture, and support students in creating a positive and measurable impact on social causes in our community and around the world.

History and Purpose

The SCAC was formed in 2013 with the goal of providing cohesion, integration, and accountability to all service activities on campus and maximizing student engagement and social impact. The SCAC will be organized into three categories (youth, relief and the environment), each of which support regular service events and discussion.

What does the SCAC do?

SCAC will support all student activities related to community service.  The group will connect students with organizations that provide a variety of meaningful community service opportunities and support students that want to host original activities related to a cause of interest.  The SCAC, occasionally in collaboration with Student Senate, will support the following student activities:

1.     Bake sales to raise funds for a social cause

2.     Drives to collect materials or supplies for a social cause

3.     Off campus service activities

4.     On and off campus events
