Estes commits to Lincoln Land College

MATTOON – Alexis Estes, senior at Clinton Community High School and a player for the Premier Fastpitch Softball 16U Gold has verbally committed to Lincoln Land Community College in Springfield, IL. Estes plays summer ball for Coach Denise Prather. The Premier Fastpitch 16U Gold were the 2015 Illinois ASA A 16U State Champions and placed 33rd at the ASA/USA 16U A Nationals in Chattanooga, TN a 185 team event that draws top teams from across the nation.

Her honors, this past season include: First Team Central Illinois Conference, First Team All Area Decatur Herald and Review, All-Area Honorable Mention Champaign News Gazette.

Estes hit .359 for the Maroons with three home runs, eight doubles, 18 RBI and an OBP of .425. In the circle for the Maroons, Estes’ ERA was 1.52, struck out 181 batters and went 16-4 for the 2015 high school season. Clinton ended the 2015 season 21-5.

She is coached in high school by Mike Nunnery and will graduate in 2016.

Lincoln Land is a NCJAA Division II School. The Loggers posted a fifth place finish at the NJCAA DII National Tournament and an overall record of 45-15. The team is coached by John Marsaglia.

Estes is the daughter of Heidi and Richard Estes.
