This is a guide on how to install Prague College printers on your laptop. You have to be connected to the Prague College WiFi to be able to print from the printers.
You will also need a file archiver program (WinRar, 7zip, Keka, etc.) in order to extract the software and drivers that you will download in this guide. If you don't have it I provided two links below with free file archivers for both Mac OS (Keka) and Windows (7-Zip) that you can download and install.

Mac OS X

Determining OS X version

You need to determine which version of Mac OS you have installed so you can download the appropriate drivers.
To do this click on the Apple logo in the top left corner of your screen and then click About This Mac. (see Figure 1.).

Figure 1.
Apple menu

This will open a small window where you can see the version of your OS (see Figure 2.).

Windows

This guide is for Windows 7. Most of the things from this guide should apply to other versions of Windows but if you have any questions feel free to contact IT by using the support form at support.praguecollege.cz.

Determining the OS version

Before you setup the printer you need to know which version of Windows 7 you are running, 32bit or 64bit. To do this click on the Start Menu, right click Computer and pick Properties (see Figure 1.).

Figure 1.

In the next window, under System Type you can see whether you have 32bit or 64bit Windows installed (see Figure 2.).

Figure 2.

Installing software and driver

Now that you know which version of Windows you are using you can download the correct software and drivers. Lets start by downloading and installing the software first because it is not dependant on the OS version (it will work on both 32bit and 64bit Windows). Click here to download the SafeQ Client for Windows.

After your download is finished extract the contents anywhere on your hard disk and navigate to it. Once you're in the folder right click the Install file, pick Run as Administrator and click Yes in the next window. A small command window will open and it will begin installing the software. Once it is finished it will close automatically. The software is now installed (see Figure 3.).

Figure 3.

Next you should download the correct drivers. Download either 32bit or 64bit drivers (depending on which version of Windows you have) and extract them anywhere on your hard disk. We will get back to them in a minute.

Installing printer

Now its time to actually setup the printer. Go to the Start Menu and click Devices and Printers (see Figure 4.).

Figure 4.

In the next window click Add a printer in the top left corner (or alternatively right click anywhere inside the window and pick Add a printer) (see Figure 5.).

Figure 5.

In the next window pick the Add a local printer option (see Figure 6.).

Figure 6.

In the next window pick Use an existing port: choose SafeQ001 (SafeQ Secure Port) in the drop-down menu and click Next (see Figure 7.).
If you cannot see SafeQ001 (SafeQ Secure Port) in the drop-down menu make sure that you installed the software correctly.

Figure 7.

In the next window click Have Disk... (see Figure 8.).

Figure 8.

Now click Browse... (see Figure 9.).

Figure 9.

Next you have to navigate to the folder where you previously extracted the drivers you downloaded. Once you found the folder with the driver click on the only option there, KOAYSJA_, and click Open (see Figure 10.).

Figure 10.

In the next window click OK (see Figure 11.).

Figure 11.

In the next window click Next (see Figure 12.).

Figure 12.

In the next window choose a name for the printer and click Next (see Figure 13.).

Figure 13.

That was the last screen. When printing you have to choose the newly installed printer. After clicking Print and sending your print job you will get a popup window where you have to enter your printing username and password. After filling it in go to the printer, swipe your card and you should get your print job after a few moments. Thats it!
