リベラ　せんせい
Rivera Sensei

Hello! My name is Toshiko Rivera. I teach 1st grade Red Group and Green Group students. Students call me Rivera Sensei.

I am from a small city called Sakura city in Chiba prefecture in Japan. It is about 30 miles from Tokyo. I am married and have two sons (10th grader and 8th grader) and a daughter (5th grader). 

In 2003, I studied at Tokyo International University of America in Salem which is located at Willamette University. I also took some Willamette University classes and taught classes at the Japanese Summer Day Camp while I was there. I came back to Oregon in December of 2004 to attend college.

I graduated from Portland State University Graduate School of Education with a Master’s Degree in Education in August 2012. I have been teaching at Richmond Elementary since the 2012-2013 school year. 

I love spending time with my family and enjoy playing with my children during my spare time. We like to go to the park, go for a drive, go watch movies, and take care of the farm animals. We have some cows, sheep, rabbits, and chickens beside our pet dogs, cats, and sugar gliders. My children are in 4-H and participate at a county fair every year. This is always our biggest event before we head back to school!

I am looking forward to learning about each student and working with them this school year!

初めまして。1年生の赤組・緑組の日本語クラス担任のリベラ敏子と申します。生徒にはリベラ先生と呼んでもらっています。

日本の出身地は千葉県の佐倉市という小さな市です。佐倉市は東京から約50キロほど離れたところにあります。私は結婚をしていて、10年生と8年生の息子、そして5年生の娘がいます。

2003年に、セーラムにあるウィラメット大学の敷地内にある、東京国際大学アメリカ校で勉強しました。ウィラメット大学の授業も幾つか受け、夏の日本語デイキャンプでクラスを教えました。大学へ通うため、オレゴン州には2004年の12月に戻って来ました。

2012年の8月にポートランド州立大学の教育学大学院で教育学の修士を習得しました。リッチモンド小学校では、2012-2013年度から働いています。

時間のある時は、家族と一緒に過ごし、子供達と遊ぶ事が好きです。私達は、公園へ行ったり、ドライブへ行ったり、映画を観たり、家畜の世話をしたりすることが好きです。家には、ペットの犬・猫・フクロモモンガの他に、家畜の牛・羊・ヤギ・ウサギ・鶏がいます。子供達は4−Hに参加していて、毎年カウンティーフェアーに出ています。これはいつも学校へ戻る前の大きなイベントです。

生徒一人ひとりについて学んだり、皆で一緒にが学習することを楽しみにしています。どうぞ宜しくお願いいたします。
