Plasma Processes in Astrophysics and Fusion Energy: A Workshop of the Max-Planck/Princeton Center for Plasma Physics
23 - 26 April 2018

Princeton University - Princeton Center for Theoretical Science - Jadwin Hall - 4th Floor Seminar Room

We are delighted to announce that the next general meeting of the Max-Planck/Princeton Center for Plasma Physics (MPPC) will be held in Princeton, New Jersey from Monday, April 23 to Thursday, April 26, 2018. This is the sixth general meeting of the center, with prior meetings held in Garching, Berlin, and Princeton.  The general meeting is critical to the MPPC. It provides a venue for all center members to be updated on MPPC progress, for researchers to interact across all four topical areas (reconnection, turbulence, energetic particles, magneto rotational instability), and for focused work among the topical groups. Importantly, the meeting incorporates outside experts, as invited speakers and participants. As is the hallmark of MPPC, the meeting will focus on plasma astrophysics and fusion plasma physics, with emphasis on links between the two. The unifying theme is that common plasma processes underlie a broad range of phenomena in both astrophysical and fusion plasmas.
