Youth Groups

HOPE: Helping Others Promote Equality
Tuesdays, 5pm-6:30pm

HOPE is for teens ages 13-19 years old. Some of us have mental health or behavioral health needs, others have juvenile justice involvement, some have trouble in school, others are looking for a place to fit in; Each of us, however, has a story to share. We work to support one another and change our lives, homes, and communities for the better!

HOPE is youth-driven, which means group members are deciding the agenda, leading the activities, and choosing which goals to works towards. Group rules and guidelines are set by group members and reviewed annually.

Youth groups are non-therapeutic and non-clinical, which means there are NO doctors, clinicians, or residential staff that come to youth group! Just teens, young adult mentors, and Youth MOVE staff.

Speaker's Bureau of Youth MOVE Massachusetts
1st and 3rd Thursdays, 4pm-5pm

The Speaker's Bureau of Youth MOVE Massachusetts is open to youth and young adults ages 13+. This is our working speakers bureau! Our Mission is to educate others, spread awareness, build trust amongst ourselves, undo stereotypes, promote safety, and to help the community.

We do this by SPEAKING OUT as youth and young adults with diverse backgrounds and experiences.

The Speaker's Bureau is young adult-led and youth-driven, which means the group leaders are Youth MOVE Massachusetts members. Teens and young adults make decisions together about the speakers' bureaus goals and agenda. No doctors or clinicians attend meetings.

Members of this group have spoken at Clark University, Massachusetts School of Professional Psychology, Georgetown Training Institutes, Worcester State University, and at various conferences. Many Speaker's Bureau members are also Strategic Sharing Peer Facilitators!

YAYA: Young Adults & Youth Advocacy
1st and 3rd Thursdays, 5pm-6:30pm

YAYA is a group of young people, ages 17+, who meet twice a month for support, skill building, and dinner as we figure out how to live independently.  We often invite different speakers in on topics like tattoo safety, buying a car, or the college application process!

YAYA is young adult-driven and non-clinical; so young adults are making the decisions about the group and their goals. No doctors, clinicians, or residential staff attend meetings (unless they are invited as speakers!)
