PHS Leftovers

Powhatan High School Leftovers (PHS Leftovers) club assists Relay for Life through The American Cancer Society, which is the nationwide community-based voluntary health organization dedicated to eliminating cancer as a major health problem. ACS focuses on preventing cancer, saving lives, and diminishing suffering from cancer, through research, education, advocacy, and service.


Mission: PHS Leftovers mission is to give all students the opportunity to be members as well as leaders within Relay for Life. The PHS Leftovers club/team strives to raise 10,000 dollars per fiscal year for cancer research and prevention. Our team also promotes cancer awareness and prevention, the options and treatments available for patients, and available support for caregivers. Beyond funds and awareness, knowing how many of our students have been affected by cancer, our main goal is to provide extended support, service and encouragement to the Powhatan community.


Membership: This club is for students who may not have the opportunity to participate with other club Relay for Life Teams. provide extended support, service and encouragement to the Powhatan community.
