About JV

My name is JV Avadhanulu and it was abbreviated to user-friendly form of 'JV. I started the practice of Pranayama when afflicted by ischemic heart disease in 1987. This was a turning point in my life as it led me to the path of holistic healing. Healing this 'incurable' disease spurred me on to explore other inner growth practices. I learned that I need to manage my physical and emotional stress to maintain inner harmony and happiness is the icing on the cake of life. For more than two decades, I have been practicing Pranayama and deep relaxation, meditation and other techniques with remarkable benefits. In December 07, I quit my professional career and started living in Auroville to explore alternate modes of living and to find the purpose of my life. I found the purpose in offering Personal Growth programs and I am passionate about sharing the techniques and tools that were beneficial to me.
Starting in early 2008, I have been offering Personal Growth programs at Auroville. Since May 09, I started facilitating programs outside Auroville also: in educational institutions, corporates and NGOs. I am a Visiting Faculty at IIM, Indore, teaching courses in Personal Growth Lab, Integral Development Lab and workshops in Personal Growth.
I hold a M.Tech degree from IIT, Kharagpur. I served in the Indian Navy from 1970 to 1991 and left in the rank of Capetian on permanent absorption in Bharat Electronics. I received the Visisht Seva Medal from President of India in 1984. Prior to joining Auroville, I worked for 16 years in top R&D management positions - such as the Director of R&D of D-Link India, JCPE of CRISP/IISc, Vice President (Software) of Cirrus Logic India and General Manager (R&D) of BPL Telecom Ltd.
