Library Resources

High school students access research sources frequently but at times need encouragement to expand beyond the familiarity of Google searches.

PDS Library

For research, high school students can find an expanding body of electronic resources on the Library Google site and should take the time to peruse it. Usernames and passwords for subscription databases are available from the librarian.

NYPL and Mid Hudson Library Card Access

In an effort to decrease reliance on print resources and to expand the availability of scholarly resources, beginning in the 2011-2012 academic year, teachers in the history and English departments asked that all high school students acquire a Mid-Hudson Library system card.

A New York Public Library card and a Mid Hudson Valley library card allows students to access numerous research databases. Students can also download software that will allow them to download audio books and e-books through the Mid Hudson Library system.
