this composition has lower CTFE content and the peak temperature of dielectric constant shifts to higher temperature. Its Young's modulus at 25 C is significantly higher than the composition with 7mol% CTFE. The high mechanical strength also increases the dielectric breakdown strength, therefore, enabling higher energy density, larger mechanical energy output, or higher electrocaloric cooling capability.

  • Our PVDF, PVDF-TrFE, PVDF-TrFE-CFE or PVDF-TrFE-CTFE films are produced using a proprietary process than enables high thickness uniformity, minimal pinholes and defects, therefore, they have higher dielectric breakdown strength than the films produced in academic labs.
  • Stretching can improve polymer chain orientation, therefore, significantly increase their dielectric breakdown strength. However, it is difficult to stretch the expensive terpolymer film using Instron machine. We also have a Zone Stretching machine that was developed specifically for stretching small piece of PVDF-TrFE-CTFE and related films. with this special design, the typical necking process can be minimized.
