"Tell me, I'll forget. Show me, I'll remember. Involve me, I'll understand."

-Chinese Proverb

Welcome to the second grade!

Hello everyone,

My name is Christine Marie McGee. This will be my fifth year teaching here at Saluda Elementary and I could not be happier!

I am originally from Maine. I have two younger sisters, Cassandra and Cynthia. Cynthia still lives in Maine and Cassandra lives in Key West. Here in North Carolina I am right in between them. My favorite color is green and my favorite animal is an elephant, I also love sea turtles. I love to go hiking through the mountains and camping in the woods with my dog Hopkins! I am also Asheville High School's swim coach.

I believe students learn through exploration and discovery. This includes trial and error. In second grade students need to develop problem solving skills and understand that it's okay to make mistakes and we need to learn from them.

School Theme:  Paving the Road to Success with G.R.I.T. Goals, Responsibility, Initiative, Tenacity

I look forward to the amazing year of learning and self-discovery we have ahead of us!
