Honors Engineering

WELCOME TO HONORS ENGINEERING!

Honors Engineering is an honors level project based learning environment. Students will be expected to work independently as well as in a group environment. Project Based Learning is a teaching method in which students gain knowledge and skills by working for an extended period of time to investigate and respond to an engaging and complex question, problem, or challenge. This class will learn basic engineering problem solving skills in a project based learning environment. The various projects will incorporate Science Olympiad Build challenges as well as robotic building challenges. The projects will focus on the physics and engineering as well as working in a group dynamic to promote solving skills and reflective thinking through handson and technology exploration. Student portfolios will be used to gauge learning objectives and thinking skills. Students will also be expected to complete a written report and powerpoint presentation for the semester. Time management and staying on task will be important for this class.
