Call for Student Poster Competition Entries

Directions for Abstract Submission:

·       Complete the attached abstract submission form (scroll to the bottom of this page).

·       For questions regarding the competition, contact Josh Miner at jminer@carollo.com

 

NEW! Project Track:

·       Present the best of what you do (cool project, tool, process, capstone project, etc.).

·       YPs will be asked to come up with Total Water Solutions so the competition is open to all we do: water, wastewater, stormwater, reuse, water resources, conservation, water quality, financial, and asset management.

·       Students may submit poster abstracts as teams or individually.

 

Selection Criteria:

·       Technical Content: Awarded for application of sound engineering or scientific principles resulting in vibrant solutions.

·       Benefit to the Drinking Water Industry: Awarded for poster topics that provide the most benefits to the drinking water industry.

·       Research Approach: Experimental set-up and conditions should be appropriate for testing research hypotheses and should follow a logical sequence.

·       Benefits and Significance: Actual benefits and widespread applications should be reported.

 

Selected Posters:

·       All submittals will be carefully and objectively evaluated for invitation to the conference.

·       Selected presenters will be expected to prepare a poster and attend the conference in Kennewick, Washington on the morning of May 4, 2017 for the poster presentation session. 

·       Plan to attend the banquet on the evening of May 5, 2017, at which time the winner will be announced.

·       Scholarships are available to help students attend the conference. Scholarships will be awarded based on need and order received, so students are encouraged to apply early. For questions, email Dan Reisinger dreisinger@carollo.com

 

Prizes:

·       Cash prizes of $150, $100, and $50 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place.

·        The 1st place winner will receive airfare, lodging, and registration (up to $1,500) to Philadelphia, PA to compete in the AWWA Annual Conference and Exhibition Fresh Ideas Competition from June 12-14, 2017.
