AWWA is the authoritative resource on safe water, sharing knowledge on water resource development, water and wastewater treatment technology, water storage and distribution, utility management and operations.  An international nonprofit and education society, AWWA is the largest and oldest organization of water professionals in the world. 

Members of the NW Oregon Subsection of AWWA cover a full spectrum of water industry professionals including operators and engineers, water conservation and cross-connection specialists, customer service agents and meter technicians, manufacturers and suppliers, teachers and students, meter readers and more!

The NW Oregon Subsection of AWWA invites and encourages all water industry professionals to attend and participate in their meetings and events.

You are invited to attend a workshop for the latest program in PNWS's training curriculum:

  

Basic Waterworks Workshop

  Friday, April 21st starting at 8:30 am

at the Comfort Suites-Columbia River

  

This program is designed for new utility front-line employees, office staff or others that want a preview or review of the basics of a water utility, the terminology, regulations, processes, and goals.  Topics will include:

  • Overview of Water systems
  • Regulations & Contaminants
  • Water Sources
  • Hydrology & Hydraulics
  • Treatment & Disinfection
  • Water Quality Monitoring 
  • Water Quality Protection Practices
  • Construction & Maintenance
  • Disaster Response

Instructors will be:

0.6 CEUs approved

Cost is $75 for AWWA members and $100 for non-members.  $10 surcharge after April 15.
