Who We Are

Welcome to the Pacific Northwest Section (PNWS) of the American Water Works Association (AWWA).  The PNWS is one of the largest and most respected Sections in AWWA. Our 2,500 members from the drinking water industry utilities, governmental agencies, and consultants hail from Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.  We are an active community of volunteers committed to safe drinking water.

As a member of AWWA and PNWS, we encourage you to get involved with your local subsection and/or one of the many PNWS committees.  The opportunities to volunteer are endless!  Take a minute and visit the PNWS Committees and Subsection pages to see how you can participate in Section activities.   Committees and subsections are always looking for new members.  Interested in competing in Section level events like TappingTop Ops, or Meter Madness?  Visit the Subsection Advisory Committee (SAC) website.  Looking for a great training/networking event?  Attend the annual conference.  This two-day conference is held in the spring and  offers continuing education units (CEUs), networking, a look at  up-and-coming technology at the vendor exhibits. Cheer on the PNWS members during the competitions!   Are you new to the water industry?  The Young Professionals (YP) committee is just for you!
