The Greek Philosopher Aristotle said that people do philosophy today for the same reason that they did it in the past.  We act in response to wonder.  St Anselm said that theology is faith seeking understanding. Our goal is to better understand both what reason might permit us to know and what we can only believe to be true in light of our Catholic faith.
