  • We are currently suffering unforeseen delays on the 0750 service 70 from Cremyll, which is scheduled to arrive into Royal Parade at 0912. To improve reliability the bus will now be re-routed along Paradise Road to arrive into Royal Parade at 0907.
  • As a result of this change we will also be introducing a trip departing from the Torpoint Ferry at 0841 to serve Stoke and arrive into Royal Parade at 0902. This additional trip will fill the gap in the timetable caused by re-routing the 0750 from Cremyll.
  • A new service 70/70A/70B timetable leaflet has been produced to also include the early morning trip that we introduced departing the Torpoint Ferry at 0611. You will find the new downloadable PDF timetable below.

  • Due to an additional school contract being awarded to Citybus in the Rame area we have had to make some minor adjustments to our timetable in the Morning and Afternoon. Although this will have minimal impact on the timetable, the most notable change will see the 07:40 departure from Insworke (08:20 from HMS Raleigh) now serve Union Street on its way into the City Centre. This Journey will not serve the Railway Station.
  • The Journey that is due to run through Stoke Village at 08:52 arriving on Royal Parade at 09:07 will still be served using an alternative vehicle starting from Pottery Quay.

  • Service 32 Since our successful launch, we have identified that our Service 32 is challenged to maintain the timetable within Torpoint therefore whilst the number of journeys operating between Torpoint and Plymouth will remain the same we have decided serve Great Park Trevol Torpoint differently. In the mornings Service will operate direct from Torpoint Ferry to HMS Raleigh returning via Great Park Trevol. In the afternoons the Service will operate from the Ferry to Great Park Trevol returning via HMS Raleigh then direct to the Torpoint Ferry. Following the removal of the bus stop prior to the Devonport Ferry terminal, bus services operating across to Torpoint will no longer be able to set down on the Plymouth side of the ferry terminal. Alternative alighting points are found about halfway up Ferry Hill. To help keep the service to time Plymouth inbound services to the City Centre will also operate Cobourg Street and Drake Circus to Royal Parade. We are pleased to announce further investment in this new service with the introduction of a Sunday service between Royal Parade and the Plymouth side of the Torpoint Ferry terminal. This service will operate up to every 30 minutes during the day.

01 AUG 2013

  • Plymouth Citybus’ announced today that it will launch a new service between Plymouth and Torpoint from October 7.
  • Plymouth Citybus, a Go-Ahead Group company, has further invested in its operation to now serve further afield into South East Cornwall. The service will run up to every 30 minutes Monday to Saturday between Torpoint and Plymouth City Centre, via Stoke and Plymouth Railway Station. Bus travel will be made easy with the availability of both smart card and mobile ticketing solutions, incorporating a wide range of tickets. This will be in addition to the driver available tickets. Season tickets will allow passengers to enjoy the wider Citybus network, including services to Derriford, Saltash, Ivybridge and Tavistock.
  • Passengers will also benefit from the centrally located Travel Centre opened earlier this year. Citybus has just seen its customer satisfaction rating from independent group Passenger Focus rise six percent since last summer, alongside being awarded Investor in People status earlier in the year. Plymouth Citybus’ Managing Director Richard Stevens said: “We have had requests from the residents of Torpoint for a Citybus provided service into Plymouth. One of the main points, which have come from our passenger consultations, is for them to be able to take advantage of the wider Citybus network, in particular services to Derriford. We are pleased to be able to cater for these needs by launching this new exciting service”. Further details about the new service will be released towards the end of August, in preparation for the launch on October 7.Plymouth Citybus News Release
