Evening Monday to Friday journeys between Derriford and The George are being withdrawn due to very poor use. The last 15 bus from Derriford to The George will now depart at 18:29 (the 86 will still operate in the evenings at 04 mins past the hour from Derriford Hospital from 19:04 to 00:04 on weekdays and Saturdays)

We are also launching a new day time service 15A between Woolwell and Glenholt via the George Park & Ride site. There are three off peak circular journeys.

The Saturday timetable is unchanged.

26 OCT 2014

Changes are being made from Mondays to Fridays to services operated by First in Plymouth to provide better bus connections for staff, patients and visitors using Derriford Hospital.

From Monday 27 October, there will be extra journeys introduced on Service 15 between Plymouth City Centre, Derriford Hospital and Woolwell to assist Derriford staff and patients. This will include one additional early morning journey from the George Park & Ride to Derriford Hospital and some new early evening trips from Derriford back to the George. A return between The George Park & Ride, the University of St Mark & St John and Derriford Hospital on the 15 and 86 is only £1 return.

Commenting on the changes, Paul Smith, First’s Devon Operations Manager said: “With the reduction in parking spaces at the hospital this year, we were more than happy to work with the Plymouth Hospitals NHS Trust and the city council to find solutions to the challenges this would present its staff, patients and visitors.

Paul Smith adds: “Feedback from the bus users’ surgery at Derriford Hospital, has been very encouraging and customers welcomed our proposals for enhancing the services. These changes are good news for Plymouth as they will ensure that staff, patients and visitors going to and from the hospital will have peace of mind that there will be regular bus services to ensure they arrive on time for work and for their appointments.”

Plymouth City Centre - Mutley - Derriford Hospital - Marjon - The George - Woolwell Combined with service 86 the 15 now offers up to 5 buses an hour from The George junction to Derriford Hospital at peak the morning and afternoon on weekdays. This is especially good news now parking has been dramatically reduced at the hospital (and the price increased!) Plus more service 15 buses serve the actual George Park & Ride site so less of a walk to catch the bus once youve parked (plus you can keep warm and dry in the office if its not such great weather!) Outside of the peak rush hours the 15, combined with the 86, will offer a 20 minute frequency between Woolwell and the City Centre. On Saturdays, combined with 86 the 15 offers a us every 30 minutes between Woolwell Roundabout and City Centre (or hourly travel to/from Woolwell School Drive).

Parking at Derriford Hospital making you sick?! Heres the remedy: its only £1 return between The George and Marjon or Derriford Hospital on the 15! Plus if youre coming back from Derriford Hospital or Marjon after the 15 finishes you can use your return ticket on service 86 which run hourly in the evenings on until 0004 from Derriford Hospital or 0006 from Marjon (youll need to get off at the bus stop outside the George hotel)

Great news for people wanting to get to the University College Marjon and Derriford Hospital. Our service 15 runs 6 days a week between Plymouth City Centre, Mutley Plain, Crownhill, Derriford Hospital, University College Marjon, The George Hotel and Woolwell. From Monday to Friday it runs up to every 20 minutes and on Saturdays up to every 30 mins. The journey time between The George and UCP Marjon is just 7 minutes and to Derriford Hospital main entrance only 8 minutes. Plus to make travelling to and from UCP Marjon and Derriford Hospital even better weve launched a super value return ticket. Its only £1 for a return journey on the 15 between The George Hotel/George Junction Park & Ride and UCP Marjon or Derriford Hospital! With parking limited and quite expensive at the Hospital this makes getting to and from the Hospital so much easier and cheaper! (Plus some of the parking is quite far from the hospital entrance and with the 15 you can get on and off right outside the main entrance - to get back to The George it leaves from stand 3). And don't forget parking at The George Junction is free! To get to UCP Marjon and Derriford Hospital from The George Junction on service 15 youll need to catch it from the stops within The George Junction Park & Ride site. And then when you catch the 15 back from Derriford Hospital to the George alight at the stop outside The George Hotel across the road (there is a pelican crossing to help you safely cross the road to get back to your car) And there's more... If you want to get back to The George after the service 15 stops running (around 18:30) you can catch service 83 or 86 back from Derriford Hospital or UCP Marjon. Between them the 83 and 86 run hourly until midnight!

From Monday to Friday it runs up to every 20 minutes and on Saturdays up to every 30 mins. The journey time between The George and Derriford Hospitals main entrance is only 8 minutes. Plus to make travelling to and from the Hospital even better we've launched a super value return ticket. Service 15 (City Centre - Derriford - Rodborough / Woolwell): The route of this service is changing from the end of October to provide additional connections with Tavistock services travelling via Roborough and Woolwell. As a result of this change though Service 15 buses will no longer call at Estover or Mainstone from the 27 October. The frequency of buses is also changing: from the end of October they'll run every 20 minutes Monday - Friday and every 30 minutes on Saturdays. Additionally, on arrival in the City centre, most Monday to Friday journeys will continue as a Service 4. This means that customers wishing to travel from Roborough / Woolwell towards Keyham can do so relatively easily at these times - they simply board in Roborough / Woolwell, staying on the same vehicle in the City Centre, before being taken to Keyham on a Service 4 journey.

Now this is a change as currently the 15 does not serve Roborough. It could just be an extension of the current half of the runs which turn at Derriford. It just means extending up through past Marjons to The George Park & Ride site. I hope it is just that and not a re-routing away from Asda / Mainstone. Or it could be extended from Mainstone up to The George? I catch this service a lot so will be watching out for the new timetables!

29 March 2013 First 15

We are pleased to announce were increasing the frequency between the City Centre and Derriford Hospital from every 20 minutes to every 15 minutes from Monday to Friday, while journeys between Derriford Hospital, Estover and Mainstone are being altered to run every 30 minutes. In addition to this the route is also being changed slightly. Inbound journeys from Mainstone (heading towards the city centre) will no longer serve UCP Marjon however buses will still call at the college on outbound journeys towards Estover and Mainstone (Monday to Friday). Instead inbound buses will serve Leypark Walk (for Estover Health Centre) when operating between Mainstone and ASDA. The changes mean that during the peak period, service 15 buses will combine with Service 84 /86 buses to provide a bus every 10 minutes to Derriford from City Centre, Mutley Plain and Crownhill. Finally, the Saturday timetable is being altered slightly. Buses will still run every 20 minutes but customers are advised to consult the new timetable for departure times across the route.

Buses will run every 15 minutes Monday to Saturday daytime and every 30 minutes on Sundays and Bank Holidays. Following the tremendous success of the UGOBUS network, which was originally launched in April 2008, First Devon and Cornwall is extending its network further, adding four new routes from Sunday 11 October 2009. As well as offering customers more choice and different journey opportunities, the move heralds the way for 60 new jobs to be created in the city. To support the network extension, First Devon and Cornwall is making a capital investment of over £2million, bringing an additional 22 super low floor buses into operation.
