In 1982, Mary Lund Davis endowed Pacific Lutheran University the sum of $25,000 for the establishment of The Business School Student Investment Fund, now named the Mary Lund-Davis Student Investment Fund (SIF). The primary purpose of this endowment is to provide a learning experience - an opportunity for students to participate in and learn about the free-enterprise system and how it operates.
Come join our meetings this fall!
Every Tuesday at 8 pm we have a club meeting where we:
  • Present an economic report on the condition of the U.S. economy with concern to economic factors like: job creation, production output, etc.
  • Present an update on our portfolio performance for the past week - bulls and bears - by how much and why?
  • Give an educational series on topics in finance bi-weekly to share the knowledge we have acquired in class
  • Most importantly, we present proposals and re-evaluations on stocks in our portfolio; the frequency of proposals and re-evaluations depends on fund activity

The following graph exhibits the fund's nominal value and it's inflation-adjusted return since January 2002 (nominal as area, adj. return as line):
