Reservations are now open for Fall 2017. Please go to the reservation form on the left.

Welcome, from Jeffrey Bell-Hanson,
Director of Pacific Lutheran University Orchestras

The PLU Orchestra Festival offers high school orchestras and chamber orchestras the opportunity to play in the world class Lagerquist Concert Hall at Pacific Lutheran University and to receive feedback from some of the most distinguished musicians and orchestral educators in the Puget Sound.

Our guest clinician this year will be Charles (Chip) Schooler, music professor at South Puget Sound Community College and conductor of the SPSC Orchestra, a highly successful collaboration including Olympia area community musicians, South Puget Sound College students, and students from The Evergreen State College.  Widely known as a high school orchestra director, Chip taught at Olympia and Timberline high schools spanning a twenty-six year period. He is a member of the Washington Music Educator’s Hall of Fame, and is director of the Birch Bay String Teachers’ Workshop. Chip studied conducting with Leonard Pearlemann at the University of Arizona and with Marvin Rabin and William Jones as a conducting fellow at the American Orchestral Institute.
