I am an Associate Professor of Religion at Pacific Lutheran University, where I teach courses in Christian ethics, comparative ethics, and environmental ethics. In addition to the Department of Religion, I also teach in the International Honors and Environmental Studies programs at PLU. Every course emphasizes the importance of thinking critically about contemporary moral issues.

I am also the Chair of the Environmental Studies Program, where our mission is educating to engage actively and critically the complex relationships between people and the environment, drawing upon integrated and interdisciplinary perspectives.

My research focuses on the interconnections between religious faith and social justice, human ethics and environmental concerns, scientific data and moral commitments.

For more information than you could possibly want about my teaching and research, you can access my CV.

In addition to my teaching and research, I am also involved with PLU's Sustainability Committee, which works to make the campus more environmentally, economically, and ethically sustainable. I also on the board at Earth Ministry, a nonprofit committed to inspiring and mobilizing the religious community to play a leadership role in building a just and sustainable future.
