Passport Weekend:

AHA Go Red Luncheon:
  • Annual event to spread awareness about the issue of heart disease and stroke. Auction to generate funds to support education and research for heart disease
  • Saturday, April 12th, 2014 (10am - 2pm): Work party day. Writing Thank You cards and putting together gift baskets at 1142 Broadway Suite 120, Tacoma, WA 98402.
  • Tuesday, April 15th, 2014 (1pm - 5pm): Set-Up day. This will take place at Clover Park Technical College in the McGavick Conference Center.
  • Wednesday, April 16th, 2014: Day of the Event. During the event, greeters are needed. You may also be helping with the auction that will be taking place during the event depending on the time you arrive to help

Blood Drive:

  • April 15th - 16th (tabling starts on March 31st - April 16th)
  • We are looking for volunteers to help with donor sign ups (tabling) leading up to the drive, and post donation care (canteening) on the days of.

Stethoscope:

PLU's Relay for Life

  • 6 PM on Friday, April 25th to noon on Saturday, April 26th   
  • SIGN UP!! Go to plurelay.org and join the Delta Iota Chi Team. This year there is a registration fee.
  • Fundraise! Our goal this year is to raise $5,000. We also want to encourage each of you to think of an individual goal. Everyone who raises $100 before April will be given a FREE t-shirt. We know that everyone is extremely busy but this can be as simple as sending out a support email to 10 family members and friends. If you would like a template of this email please email Johanna. New this year: the cohort raising the most amount of money will get a pizza party! If you weren't motivated before, you're motivated now!
  • WALK! We will be sending out a Google Doc as the event gets closer for people to sign up for slots. As a team we need at least 2 people on the track at all times.
  • Sign up to bring food. This is an overnight events and we need our food!
  • Sign up to work the Delta table and tents. Delta is known for our onsite bead fundrasier. After buying thier string, walkers select a bead for every lap they do. We need people to manage this table and cheer people on as they walk by.
  • Sign up to bring supplies. Supplies would include eating utensils, plates, lawn games, decorations etc. Again a Google Doc will be sent out later for you to sign up.

  • Alumni Meeting: Contact Vanessa Jodway
    • Board looking to connect PLU SoN students to the Alumni Board to create a sense of community
    • Encouraging students to attend the bi-monthly meetings
    • Next meeting is March 15th from 9:00-11:00 at the Alumni House.
  • Service-Council Meeting: Contact Vanessa Jodway
    • The Celebration of Service will be held Wednesday, April 23, 2014, 5:30-7:00pm (Regency).
    • CCES invites all service clubs to participate.
