Dear Spanish class families of 2019-2020,
¡Bienvenidos a la clase de español!
Education and Experience: I'm looking forward to a wonderful year!
This is my 23rd year as a teacher. I taught at Westlake Middle School in Oakland for 3 years before coming to work at Harvest Park. I earned a Bilingual teaching certificate and Masters Degree in Education from San Francisco State. My BA in Spanish was earned at Humboldt State University.
One year of my studies at Humboldt was completed via extension work in Oaxaca, México.
I also studied Ecology and Spanish with the School for International Training study abroad program in Ecuador.
In the Spanish speaking world, I have traveled to México, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Ecuador including the Galapagos islands, Cuba, and Spain. I love to travel and have also visited many states in the U.S. as well as the countries of India, China, France, Italy, Germany, Belgium, Netherlands, Denmark and Sweden.
My husband and I have been married since 2007. We have 3 beautiful children...a daughter and two sons.
We also have four furry children. Our Ibizan hounds Cazadora and Steve, a Chihuahua named FoxTrot and our huge Main Coon cat named Mamu. We love to spend time together.
Interests: In my free time I go hiking and find ways to be active with my family, ride horses, read ... and cook delicious food! I also run the Geography Bee every year at Harvest Park.
