A little bit about...Mrs. Barstad
I am excited to be a part of the amazing PRA family and thrilled to be your child’s teacher this year! I have twelve years teaching experience. I am passionate about first grade and this will be my 7th year teaching 1st grade.
I am a mother of three girls; two are still attending PRA in 5th and 7th grade. It’s hard to believe my oldest will be a junior in high school! Our family enjoys exploring, hiking, skiing and just being outside in this awesome state. We are blessed to be a part of a dedicated community that believes in choosing a quality education. Together we are going to have a GREAT year!!

I am thrilled to say that this is my eighth year teaching First Grade at Platte River Academy, and my fourteenth year teaching overall! I received my undergraduate degree from Colorado State University in Human Development and Family Studies. I then went on to the University of Colorado at Denver where I received my Teaching Certificate and a masters in Educational Pshychology. My first teaching job was at a charter school in Westminster where I taught
third Grade for six years. After having my son eight years ago, I made the decision to find a job closer to our home. I feel so fortunate to be a part of the PRA family!
I have three AMAZING children- Jett is in second grade at PRA, Everly is 2, and Westin is 11 months. I enjoy spending time with my family, being outdoors, staying active, and of course, teaching your child! Being a teacher is not only my job, but my passion. I believe that all children can learn and be successful. My goal for your child this year is to spark the enthusiasm for learning so that they can be lifelong learners. I look forward to partnering with you in the education of your child! A little bit about...Mrs. LeFevre (IA)
