The Plano High School Music Department consists of all band, choir, and music theory students.  Classes offered include Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Honors Symphonic Band, Concert Choir, Honors Concert Choir, Percussion, Honors Percussion, Independent Music, Honors Independent Music, Music Therapy, Music Appreciation I and Music Appreciation II.  The AP music theory curriculum can be run through honors independent music.

The NAMM foundation has designated Plano as a 2025 "Best Community for Music Education." Our district was one of 935 school districts selected from thousands of applicants. The 24-25 Plano High School Chapter #6477 of Tri M Music Honor Society has been named the Illinois Chapter of the year by the National Association for Music Education!  Shout out to all of our amazing Tri M students at PHS!!!!

Congratulations to all Plano High School music students for achieving national recognition. The NAMM foundation has designated Plano High School as a 2015 "Best Community for Music Education" with a "Support Music Merit Award." Our high school is one of 120 nation-wide that was selected for this honor.
