About Pita

Pita Jarupunphol (พิทา จารุพูนผล) is an Associate Professor in Digital Technology at Phuket Rajabhat University (PKRU). He has served as a Lecturer in information technology at PKRU since May 2004. He has held several positions of significant responsibility at Phuket Rajabhat University and beyond. From April 2015 until April 2023, he served as the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology Director at Phuket Rajabhat University, overseeing the management and strategic planning of academic resources and technology infrastructure. Additionally, from 2019 to 2021, he held the position of Head of the Master of Science Program in Digital Technology at Phuket Rajabhat University, where he led the development and implementation of the curriculum and provided guidance to students and faculty. From 2015 to 2020, Pita was the President of the Network Director of the Office of Academic Resources and Information Technology for 38 Rajabhat Universities across the country, where he worked to establish and maintain strong connections among these institutions while advancing their academic resources and information technology capabilities. These roles demonstrate his visionary leadership, management, and technology expertise and ability to build and maintain effective partnerships and networks.

He earned a Bachelor's degree in Business Computing from Dhurakijpundit University (Thailand) in 1996 and a Master's in Information Systems from the University of Wollongong (Australia) in 1998. In 2004, Pita began his teaching career at Phuket Rajabhat University. Later, in 2008, he was granted sponsorship for his PhD in Computer Science at the University of Auckland, New Zealand. Pita gained valuable teaching experience throughout his doctoral studies at esteemed institutions, including the University of Auckland, Oxford International Academy, and Kiwi Institute of Training and Education. 

Pita's research interests encompass various topics within computer science and information technology. Specifically, he is interested in software engineering, which involves developing and improving software systems and processes. Additionally, he is interested in human-computer interaction, which focuses on designing and evaluating interfaces between humans and computers, and information security, which involves protecting computer systems and data from unauthorized access and threats.

Pita is also interested in applied statistics in computer science, which involves the use of statistical methods to analyze and interpret data in the context of computer science applications. Furthermore, he is interested in data science, which involves extracting knowledge and insights from large and complex datasets, as well as machine learning, which involves the development of algorithms that enable computers to learn from data and make predictions or decisions. In particular, he is interested in data mining, which involves discovering patterns and relationships in large datasets and developing algorithms for automated data analysis.
