    *** All Senior Enrichment students are reminded to meet Ms. Cassara after first period at the front entrance!


    ** The Volleyball team picked up a win last night over Liberty 25-5, 25-6, 25-6. Rudae Gadson led the team's offense with 6 kills, 1 block, and 2 aces, Paige Bennett added one kill, 6 aces, and 6 digs, while Amber Carlton picked up 12 assists, 4 aces, and 9 serve points


    ** Saturday, the Cross Country team competed at the Bowdoin XC Invitational against 72 other teams. On the Boys’ side, Christian Deal ran the tough 3 mile course in 17minutes 18 seconds to come in 20th out of 186 runners. Harry Tomassi ran 19:04 (88th) and Ben Straebler ran 20:34 (140). For the Girls’ 10th grader Kourtney Kroll came in 50th out of 131 in a time of 23:09. 9th grader Kaylah Johnson held her own in her 1st Invitational coming in 70th with a time of 24:15. Today the teams travel to Monticello.”


    ** CONGRATULATIONS TO THE HOMECOMING COURT: Boys; Marcus Figorito, Steven Johnson, Kyle Prundl, Zachary Prundl, Gavin Staerker, and Xzayviea Stephens. Girls: Ariana Hastings, Rachel Hockenberry, Eryn Keys, Lucia Moliterno, Erin Powrie, and Mikayla Rodriguez.  Voting for King and Queen will be during the Pep-Rally.


    ** HOMECOMING DANCE:  The Homecoming Dance will be Saturday, October 6th, from 7:00 to 10:00 in the HS Gymnasium.  Tickets will be $3.00 per person or $5.00 per couple and will be available at the door.  The Assistant Principal’s office MUST approve any alumni who would like to attend the dance as a guest.  The deadline for guest approval will be October 4th.   NO STUDENTS FROM OTHER SCHOOLS WILL BE ALLOWED TO ATTEND. 


    ** RAIDER READINESS:  There will be Raider Readiness for all sophomores in the Auditorium during lunch periods TODAY to review transcripts.  All sophomores please stop by the auditorium during at the beginning of your lunch periods.



    ** UNDERCLASSMEN PICTURES DAY:  Underclassmen (Grades 9 to 11) picture day will be on October 25. More information to follow.


    ** SADD: All students who would like to join SADD are welcome to come to the Powder Puff meeting in room 118 after school TODAY. There will be a meeting for all SADD members (new members welcome) Thursday after school in room 118.


    ** The DRAMA CLUB will be having a brief informational meeting THURSDAY, September 27th, in room 125, the chorus room.  If you have any questions, see Mrs. Gordon.


    ** DECA: The DECA club meeting TODAY, Tuesday 9/25.  If you received an invite, please come to the meeting on Tuesday 9/25 after school.


    ** The Science Olympiad Team will have its first meeting TODAY, Tuesday 9/25 afterschool in room 300.  The Rulebooks have arrived and are available outside room 300 for pick up!  Come choose your event(s).  New members are always welcome.  See Mr. Koenig for more details if needed.


    ** Athletes can sign up for INDOOR TRACK.  Signup sheets are located on the door of room 109. If you have any questions talk to Coach Wright


    ** Free Youth Leadership Training—Be Proud, Be Responsible--here at PJHS , When:  Tuesday 10/9, Wednesday 10/10 & Thursday 10/11, 215pm – 345pm,  What:  Learn about health and healthy relationships.  Gain valuable peer education skills, What else:  snacks and a $25 gift card for completing the three-day program.  Sign up in guidance!!

    ** Attention all you Rembrandts out there! ART CLUB is set to run for the 2018-19 school year! Our first meeting will be Monday OCT. 1 in Art Room 116.  We will meet from 2:15 to 3pm and discuss our plans for individual and school-wide projects.  See Ms. Maloney with any questions. 

     

    ** PSAT will be offered at PJHS on Wednesday, October 10thThe Preliminary SAT, also known as the PSAT/NMSQT® (National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test), is a preparatory version of the SAT exam. You can only take the PSAT once per year, and most students take the test in both 10th and 11th grade. If you earn a high score on the PSAT your junior year, you could qualify to receive a National Merit Scholarship.  This exam is free for all sophomores and juniors.  Students must register in the guidance office by October 5th.

     

    ** SOPHOMORES: Due to other meetings happening today, there will be no Sophomore Spirit Week painting today. We will resume painting on Wednesday and continue all week. Sophomores are reminded to stop by the library to sign up for Spirit Week activities.

    ** SENIOR PACKETS will be handed out today in your English class.  Please pay attention to the important dates that each item is due!  There will be extra copies in the front office or in room 104.  Any questions please see Mrs. Van Horn in room #104.

    ** SENIOR Volunteers are needed to work the concession stand for this Friday's (9/28) football game, starting at 5:00pm. Also need home baked goods, individually wrapped. All donations of time and baked goods count towards Disney trip and/or prom. Sign up with your class officers.

    ** SENIOR Spirit Week planning and window decorating starts TOMORROW (9/26)! See a class officer or advisor for more information. 

    ** SENIORS: Dorney Park is this Saturday (9/29). Be at the High School by 1:30pm. Make sure permission slips are turned in to Mrs. Hoverstock (117), Mr. Dunleavy (311), or Ms. Cassara (114) or you will not be allowed to go.
