Welcome to Pittsfield Elementary School Music!

About the music program:

Welcome to the Pittsfield Elementary School music page! The PES music program serves as a crucial part of our academic curriculum as well as a vital catalyst of our students’ developmental process. Music class at PES is designed to engage students in interactive, hands-on approaches to developing individual expression through music, an understanding of the history of music and the different instruments, reading and creating music in various settings, and instilling a life-long love and appreciation of music. Many of the units experienced by students in music class are designed to reinforce or compliment the learning goals in Math, Science, Language Arts and Social Studies. Students in Kindergarten through Sixth Grade have an allotted 45 minute music class once every four days. In addition to our school’s general music classes, students in 5th and 6th grade may elect to participate in band.

About the website:

Along the side you will find our classes broken into four sections; K, 1/2, 3/4, and 5/6. If you click on the section you can find information about our classes and activities we have done in class. As a sub page of each section you can find our syllabus, "Year at a Glance", and concert music.

About Miss Calautti:

Hello!

I grew up in New Jersey, Connecticut, and New Hampshire where I graduated from Merrimack High School. I attended college at Hofstra University on Long Island, NY. I received by B.S. Ed in Music Education.

I spent my first year teaching at a charter school in Nashua, NH. I'm very excited to be at Pittsfield Elementary School and make music with the students here.

When I'm not at school, I can be found teaching swim lessons and life guarding at the YMCA. I enjoy reading and hiking as well.
