Welcome to the 2019-2020 school year! I am pleased to take this opportunity to introduce myself to you and welcome you to Middle School Math at PCA. This will be my fourth year teaching Math at Pinnacle Classical Academy. I am a graduate of the University of Pittsburgh with a major in Secondary Education and History. In 2014, I received my masters of education degree in Middle Grades Mathematics at Brenau University. I have two children a son, Jackson, who is starting kindergarten this fall and a daughter, Katherine, who recently turned two.

We have many expectations for our students in the middle school. One of the biggest is being responsible for assignments and actions. Students will be responsible for completing and turning in each assignment. Homework will be assigned three to five days a week in my class, in addition to weekly iReady assignments. I will use google classroom as one strategy to help students stay organized with their assignments. The google classroom will show homework on the calendars below.

Mathematics is a subject that spirals and builds upon itself. Students will use all of the math skills they have mastered in elementary throughout the course of the year. It is my ultimate goal for each of my students to experience success and to foster a love of math. I am thrilled to work with you and your child over the course of the school year. If questions or concerns should arise, please feel free to email anytime. I look forward to seeing you on Monday, August 19th.
