The Pleasant Hope Ranch School students have had an exciting start to the school year with guest speakers, field trips, and much more! David Parnell is a public speaker, author, consultant, and advocate for drug endangered children who has spoken to tens of thousands; he visited the school and shared with the boys on September 13th.

The Polk County Health Department also visited and taught our boys about the importance of living a healthy lifestyle. The boys who achieved the academic, behavior, and citizenship standards were able to attend a Crystal Bridges bicycle trip where they learned about the history of American Art.

The Ranch School staff have been working collaboratively in content teams to develop more engaging curriculum with video, on-line, and hands-on resources for the students to become more actively engaged via there Google Classroom. The students have already shown growth in their core subjects.

Ranch School students that met the social skills and behavior guidelines for the month received s'mores courtesy of an anonymous donation. The Ranch School is always looking for partners to provide incentives for our boys (on average, 40-50 boys qualify for reward each month); please contact Mrs. Ingram if your restaurant or business would like to donate.
