All freshmen at Prairie Heights High School participate in PROWL a peer mentoring program. Freshmen are placed in groups of 5-6 with one upperclassman serving as a mentor for each group. The purpose of this program is to help students connect with each other, allow students to feel more connected to the school, and help make the transition to high school more successful. PROWL is developed and supervised by the PHHS school counselors. PROWL meets one to two times per month. All meetings will take place during C3 so that students will not miss out on instructional time. Topics discussed will include goal setting, time management, getting involved, kindness, and career planning. Peer Mentoring will also satisfy one of the new graduation pathway requirements set forth by the Indiana Department of Education. Please contact the school counseling office if you have any questions, comments, or concerns about your student’s participation.
