Students, if you are missing any artwork from this school year, check the tables and floor outside the art room. Any artwork left this Friday afternoon will be disposed of.

 

Any student with medication in the nurse's office MUST pick it up their last day of school or it will be disposed of - Nurse Kathy

 

No Grab & Go tomorrow or next week.

 

Incentive day letters are due in the office TODAY.

 

Coach Stewart would like to meet with all 6th grade girls who are playing volleyball next year at lunch TODAY in the weight room. You may bring their lunch. We will meet for about 10 minutes,

 

Prairie Grove Police Youth Academy takes place June 17th – 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This will be a free, fun-filled week with activities, instruction and exercise designed for current 5th – 8th graders.  Applications are available in the office.  TODAY is the deadline to apply. 

 

All 8th graders interested in being on the boys or girls golf team next year please come to Mrs. Smith's class (room #302) during your lunch TODAY for more information.  Please bring your lunch with you.  If you are unable to attend, drop by her room and she will give you the information that was covered.

 

For any 8th grade boy or girl interested in playing tennis next year, there will be a meeting TOMORROW during lunch in the big gym.

 

PGJHS StuCo is accepting applications for the 2019-2020 Student Council.  All applications are due on Thursday, May 16th by noon to your 6th or 7th grade English teacher.  No late applications will be accepted. 

 

Current 6th & 7th graders, we need your elective selection sheet returned to the office by Friday.

Still waiting on several pictures/money to be returned to the main offices.  Thanks for getting those back to us!

Mrs. Minton needs to see ALL 7/8 StuCo members during advisory this morning or at lunch.  If she does not talk to you at either of those two times, and you have said you are going on Friday's field trip, you will NOT be going.

National Junior Honor Society Induction Ceremony reminders:

•Ceremony is TODAY

•1:30 in MS Cafeteria

•Drop off nice clothes and hang in Mrs. Ashley’s classroom- #409 when you get to school.

•After lunch- STUDENTS WILL GO TO 5th hour

•An all call will be made during 5th hour to allow NJHS Inductees to come directly to the stage.  Mrs. Ashley will have all dress clothes at the stage

•Students will get ready in the bathrooms by the cafeteria- being mindful of the 5th and 6th grade classes going on

•Inductees will sit in alphabetical order and wait for the ceremony to begin

•Cake and punch to follow. If checking out, sign out with Mrs. Ashley in the cafeteria.

There will be no grab and go the last week of school.

 

Prairie Grove Police Youth Academy takes place June 17th – 21st from 8:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.  This will be a free, fun-filled week with activities, instruction and exercise designed for current 5th – 8th graders.  Applications are available in the office.  May 14th is the deadline to apply. 

 

NJHS Announcement:  The NJHS Induction Ceremony will take place next Monday, May 6, 2019, in our school cafeteria beginning at 1:30.  New Inductees and officers.... please bring your dress clothes to school with you on Monday so that you can change right after lunch for your induction ceremony.

 

•Only new 7th grade inductees; new 8th grade inductees, and 8th-grade officers will attend the induction ceremony

•Current 8th-grade NJHS Members, who are not officers, WILL NOT attend this year's event. 

 

Please email or come see Mrs. Ashley if you have any questions.

ALL student artwork will be sent home in the next two weeks from last hour teachers.  Teachers: Mrs. Combs will deliver student artwork to be passed out at the end of the day.  Please DO NOT send students to her to pick up their artwork. 

 

If your ball goes on the awning, do NOT climb up to get it.

 

FCA will be hosting a cookout at the Battlefield Park on Wednesday from 6-8 pm. There will be free food, games, worship, and speakers. Everyone is invited to attend!

 

Talent Show auditions will begin this week.

Talent Show auditions will begin next week.

 

Congratulations to Alex Abshier, Morgan Cobb, and Porter Graham for winning first place in the Stock Market Game with Economics Arkansas! They will be traveling to Little Rock to attend the awards luncheon in a few weeks.

 

NJHS T-Shirt Order forms are available for you in the 7th/8th-grade office

Because of testing, there will be no FCA this week.

 

The Fine Arts Festival is this Saturday, April 27th, from 2-4 p.m. in the high school cafeteria.  (Emails went to parents this week of students whose artwork was chosen to be displayed.)  Everyone is welcome to attend!  Artwork from all grades, kindergarten through 12th will be on display!  Refreshments will be served and there will be live music!  Come out and see all of our talented artists' work!

 

If you need a form for your driver's test, please email Mrs. Styles a request ONE WEEK PRIOR to your test. You need to have a 2.0 GPA in order for me to complete the form. Also, if you will be taking your driving test over the summer, you will need to call the school ONE WEEK PRIOR to your test, and then come pick it up.

 

Students, Talent Show audition forms (orange) are in the 7th grade building front office lobby on the table. Come get them and turn them in to a teacher or the office.

 

There will be a dodgeball tournament during the Fitness Fair on May 15th.  Sign-up sheets are available in both offices.  The cost is $20 per team.  Please have your team selected before picking your sign-up sheet.  Sign-up sheets with full payment are due back to the office by May 1st.

****NEW NJHS INDUCTEES (7TH AND 8TH GRADERS)****

(For students who received their official NJHS Invitations that were handed out on Friday of last week and on Monday of this week)

 

We will have a meeting at lunch in the PD room this Wednesday, April 24th,  to go over what NJHS is; what the induction ceremony will look like; ordering T-Shirts, etc. Yes, please bring your lunch and CONGRATULATIONS on being the 2019 NJHS induction class.

7th & 8th grade StuCo would like to announce Cole Ashley and Kaylee Kincaid as our April Students of the Month.  Cole is a good friend, funny, and nice.  Kaylee is nice to everybody, a good student, and stays out of trouble. Congratulations to both of you.  Come see Mrs. Minton on Friday for a sweet treat!

 

The Art Club Field Trip to Fort Smith has been rescheduled for Tuesday, April 23.  Permission slips and $10 are due to Mrs. Combs by Friday.

Congrats to Kenleigh Elder, Chloe Hillian, Autumn Spatz, and Charly Wade on their presentation at the state NHD competition on Saturday in Conway. They represented PGJHS with class and Tiger Spirit. So proud of each of you.

 

Jellybean guesses due at the end of advisory today!  Last chance!
