Dear Parent/Guardian/Student,

Welcome to Walker Mill Middle School! My name is Ms. Sealey, the eighth and seventh grade health education teacher. The purpose of the health education course is to educate young people about health issues and to help them develop healthy practices. The course will include a variety of instructional strategies such as teacher-directed activities and student-centered lessons, which will include cooperative learning, role-playing, discussions, debates, presentations, projects and health videos. I hope that your child will find the course enjoyable, informative, interactive, and interesting. As a part of the course, your child will need to have the following materials on a daily basis: composition notebook, loose-leaf notebook paper, blue or black ink pens/pencils, markers, crayons, or colored pencils, and Scissors.

Your child will be provided with a challenging and enriching health education curriculum. You will be informed about subject content as well as your child’s progress. Should we cover sensitive topics, you will be notified and have an opportunity to have an overview prior to class presentation. Home and school are important in educating students about health; therefore it is imperative that we work together to help your child be successful. I look forward to working with you in the best interest of your child.
