Welcome to the Rose Valley & Potomac Landing Virtual Media Center!

Rose Valley & Potomac Landing Libraries
Mission & Vision:

The mission of the library media programs at Rose Valley & Potomac Landing Elementary Schools is to ensure that students, staff, and parents are effective users of ideas and information.

The vision of the library program at each school is to be a “LIBRARY OF EXCELLENCE” where students are equipped to soar academically, socially, and emotionally.  We envision a library program where the media specialist, students, teachers, and parents work collaboratively to enjoy the benefits of an inviting atmosphere that allows all stakeholders to change, grow, and develop both academically and personally.

Each class that visits the media center weekly can look forward to learning the following:
  • The joy of spending time with great books
  • How to love reading for a lifetime
  • The way libraries are organized
  • Selecting nonfiction and fiction books for knowledge as well as enjoyment
  • Information, technology, and research skills
Your media specialist Mrs. Hill manages the book collection and other sources of information. There is a professional collection available for teachers and many online databases to help stakeholders learn.

The Rose Valley & Potomac Landing Media Centers are fun, colorful, inviting, and multipurpose learning environments. Students, teachers, and parents are able to visit to access print as well as online materials for research. Classes are conducted using instructional technology and the PGCPS Virtual Library Resources. Book clubs, reading promotions, Book Fairs, MakerSpace activities, and more keep students engaged as well as excited about their media center!
