We have been looking over the Aprtheid in South Africa and its effects on the County, Continent and the world.  The power point is the look at the world's view of what was taking place and how the UN stepped in to help stop the movement.

Please read The Red Pyramid by Rick Riordan.  Write a one page typed summary including something new you learned from the book and something that you learned in the class that you saw in the book.  Please do not use a font bigger than 12.  It is due by January 5th.  Happy Holidays!!!

We began a look at how to write a thesis for our argumentative essay on Jewish holidays.  You need to keep researching your holiday and if you did not submit a thesis it is due to me on a 3x5 index card.  Please continue to study for your exam, which is Monday, October 17th.

This is the final piece to the three oldest religions in Mesopotamia.  We looked at the foundations, the book and the five pillars of Islam.  The pages that are corrolated are pages 292-297.  There was a green worksheet that also helped to organized information.
 
 
***Homework:  Finish reading and complete the worksheet.  If you did not look up a Jewish holiday, you need to because the activity on Thursday will use it!!!

We looked at the oldest of the three religions, Judaism. 
Belief: Judaism
People: Jews
Book: Torah
Founder: Abraham and Moses
***Homework:  Research a Jewish holiday.  When is it celebrated?  Why is it celebrated?  What makes this such an important holiday in the Jewish faith?  What is the holiday about?  You need to write a minimum of one paragraph.  This assignment is due to me on Tuesday.  Please also read pages 56-60.

Epic of Gilgamesh

We concluded with the Epic of Gilgamesh.  Looking at the five different main characters and their character traits.  Students are required to finish their character worksheet.  For homework students are to write 3 paragraphs on the following prompt:  You are on a dig in Mesopotamia. You uncover the 13th missing tablet of the Epic of Gilgamesh.  You need to write a story to add to the EoG that includes at least 3 of the main characters.
