IB World School


 Camp IB: The IB Journey, 8/14-8/16

This enrichment program is free of charge and will run from 9:00am to 3:00pm. It is open for IB students in 9th - 12th grade, with special emphasis on the rising 9th graders and 11th grade Diploma Programme students. Transportation and lunch are not provided. 

The focus of this IB experience is to prepare students for success in the IB programs with a special emphasis on the Diploma Programme. Topics will include: the IB Learner Profile, research skills, CAS (Creativity, Activity, and Service), team-building, time-management, writing, effective study strategies, and problem-solving skills. 

The program will be held at Frederick Douglass High School. Space is limited, so register as soon as possible.

 
Welcome to the FDHS International Baccalaureate (IB) World School page.  FDHS became an IB World School in October of 2011.  We are authorized to offer the Middle Years Programme, in partnership with James Madison Middle School, and we received authorization for the IB Diploma Programme in March of 2014.

IB Wall of Fame

These students earned the IB Middle Years Programme Certificate from Frederick Douglass at the end of their sophomore year (MYP Year 5). Students met the academic standard (minimum of a 2.0), successfully completed the Personal Project, participated in service learning experiences, maintained an IB Portfolio, studied French or Spanish, and demonstrated the IB Learner Profile traits. We salute their accomplishment!
