"The price that good men pay for indifference to public affairs is to be ruled by evil men."
-Plato

Welcome to Government 9!
Our goal in this class will be to find strategies that help us read, write and think like an informed citizen.  A democratic nation such as ours requires participation from everyone if it truly is to thrive. If not, then the dire prediction made by Plato may all too easily come true.

What do I need to bring?
Similar to a democracy, this class will require your active participation. Please come to class on time, prepared and ready to be an active member. Additionally, you should bring a binder with paper, a writing utensil and your laptop (charged and ready!).

But isn't Government like super boring?
No! (unless you allow it to be) Plus it certainly would not hurt if a little youth and energy were to be injected in the political sphere; and that's where you come in!  Further, as you age into adulthood, it becomes important to realize that the decisions made by legislators could have an immediate and direct impact on your life. Thus, to be an informed citizen is critical!
