Tutoring May Be Available for Your Son/Daughter on their Instrument

posted Oct 22, 2014, 11:40 AM by Garret Ernst

I pleased to announce that we will be starting our tutoring program very soon.  While arranging a tutor for your son/daughter is dependent on volunteers from our high school band, we will make every effort to provide all students requesting the help with a tutor.  All of these tutoring sessions will be free of charge and occur after school in the high school band room.  I will be sending a letter home with all interested students, but have also attached the letter to this posting.  Please feel free to contact me at your convenience should you have any questions.

This year's High School Solo and Ensemble Festival will be hosted by Owosso High School on February 7th, 2015.  Students are able register for this event until December 3rd, 2014.  As a music educator, I firmly believe that no other activity we provide does more to improve musicianship than Solo and Ensemble Festival.  Please encourage your son/daughter to take part in this year's festival.  I have attached all of the documents that were made available to the students in class.  If you should have any questions please contact me at your convenience.  Thanks!

Solo and Ensemble is right around the corner and I would like to encourage all 7th and 8th Grade Band Members to get involved.  I truly believe that no other activity pushes a student's musicianship than Solo and Ensemble.  This year's festival will take place at Bay City Auburn High School on December 13th, 2014.  I will be registering students for this activity through October 3rd.  Information was made available to the students in class on Monday, September 22nd.  I have also included the information attached to this announcement.  Please consider taking part in this wonderful activity.

Bad Weather and the End of the Semester

posted Jan 19, 2014, 6:11 PM by Garret Ernst

Well, Mother Nature did not cooperate with us at the end of this past semester.  And as such, I have decided to move the 1st semester project's due date to the end of the 2nd semester.  This means that students will only have one (1) project due this year.  If they have already completed their project, they are all set for the year.  If they had not started, they have more time now.  If they had earned some, but not all of their project points, I have kept those points in tact.  They may add to them throughout the rest of this semester to complete the project.  Please let me know if you have any questions.
