A Welcome Letter From The Athletic Director

Peotone High School Students, Families & Community Members,

On behalf of the Peotone Athletic Department, I welcome all students to participate in our interscholastic sports programs. Athletics are an excellent way to grow in many ways as an individual. As someone fortunate enough to have participated in several sports, I know that athletics played a major role in helping prepare me for college and the adult world. It is because of sports, the lessons of my coaches, and the games I played, I developed skills in time management, problem solving, delegation, motivation, and team building.

Peotone High School is a member of the IHSA (Illinois High School Association) and Interstate-8 (I-8) Conference. All rules and regulations handed down by these governing bodies will be adhered to at all times.

As a member of the Peotone athletic family, our expectations for all of our students, families & community members are to act responsibly as you represent our school district. Remember that you are ambassadors for everyone who attends our school. How you act and react to situations reflects not only on you, but also on Peotone School District 207-U.

Our student-athletes have academic and athletic responsibilities, and are encouraged to study, go to class, practice hard, and do their best to excel. Teaching our student-athletes to take pride in all that they do is of the utmost importance to Peotone School District 207-U.

The Peotone Athletic Department’s philosophy is that the student-athlete’s pursuits on the field should be equally measured with those off of it. To that end, a Peotone student-athlete should pursue personal growth through academic work, team experiences, and as an ambassador of our school district. In addition, the athletic department strives to maintain an outstanding athletics program, conducted in a manner that sets an example for good sportsmanship. Our primary concern is the education of the student-athlete. We expect all who choose to participate in our sports programs to be responsible student-athletes.

Please remember that the coaches and administrators are here to assist you. While we strive to build outstanding athletic teams, our goal is to ultimately help our student-athletes be successful in life!
