2011 Go Eng Girl

Lake Ontario Chapter members,

The Registrar's office, Engineering Faculty and Engineering Students' Society at UOIT have asked to pass on the following message to our members, please share it with anyone who you think would be interested in volunteering or any grade 7-10 girl who would be interested in attending:

"Go Eng Girl is a yearly event that happens at universities across Ontario encouraging girls to consider engineering as a possible career path.  This year, the Durham Region event is being held on Saturday, October 1 at the University of Ontario Institute of Technology and invites girls in grades 7-10 and their parents to a one day session to hear from guest speakers, participate in build activities, see campus facilities and talk to professionals about the wonderful world of engineering.

To make this day a success, we are currently looking for professional engineers and EITs (of any gender) who are interested in volunteering on October 1st to help share their experiences and introduce engineering to the participants.  We are looking for one keynote speaker to address all attendees, and volunteers to help with build activities, answer parent questions, and to represent their industry at an industry fair.  The day runs from 9:30 to 3 p.m. and we are looking for volunteers available for all or part of the day.  To sign up to be a keynote speaker please email Janelle at janelle.macdougall@gmail.com, and to volunteer for any or all of the other positions please fill out the following registration form below.  Lunch will be provided for volunteers.

For more information or if you have any questions please visit www.ospe.on.ca/goenggirl or email Janelle at janelle.macdougall@gmail.com "
