Kindergarten Registration (2016-2017)

Please read this information carefully before completing your online registration.

This website contains all the information required to complete Kindergarten registration for the 2016-2017 school year. Please read everything before completing your online registration.
Kindergarten registration will take place at the District Administraiton Office during the month of March. Appointments will be scheduled between 8:30 a.m. and 4 p.m. Monday through Friday. After completing the online portion of registration, please contact the Student Registration Office beginning February 22 to schedule an appointment by calling 215-453-2793.  You will not be able to schedule your appointment before the online portion is complete or prior to February 22.

(PLEASE NOTE: If your child is coming from an Early Intervention Program and you have already completed your initial screening process, please tell us when you call that you have a child entering from the Intermediate Unit so your appointment can be scheduled immediately. This is very important in order to get your child's placement testing initiated.

Keep in mind that we register more than 400 students each year.
If you reach a voice mail message, leave your name and a phone number where you can be reached between 8 a.m. and 4 p.m. Please indicate  that you are calling for kindergarten registration and we will return your call within 24 hours. Please call again only if you have not received a return call within 24 hours; leaving multiple voicemails on the same day just delays the return call process.

In the event of inclement weather on the day of your appointment , if there is a delayed opening or cancellation,  your appointment could be postponed.

If your appointment is postponed due to weather, someone from the Student Registration Office will contact you directly within a few days to reschedule your appointment. If your appointment needs to be rescheduled after March 31st due to weather conditions, you will not be penalized, and your registration, if complete, will be considered on time. This is only if the school delays or cancels school due to  weather, not if you reschedule or cancel your appointment on your own.

Please keep in mind that school assignment is not based on when you call for an appointment or on which date in March you register. It is based on  your registraiton being  considered complete during the month of March. It is not a first come, first placed basis. You could be the first child on the first day of March or the last child on the last day of March and still be bumped. (Please read the school assignment process below)

The School Assignment Process

All completed registrations will be assigned to an elementary building at the end of March after mass registration has concluded. Children entering kindergarten whose registration is complete during the mass registration window in March that have older siblings attending the same elementary school during the next school year will be given preference to be assigned to their home school.

All other students who have completed registrations will be assigned to an elementary school by lottery with the intent to assign them to their home school first, if seats are available. Overcrowding and the inability to accommodate the number of kindergarten registrants with siblings in their home attending school and/or high attendance in an area could cause your student to be placed in a neighboring elementary school for kindergarten.

Please also note that not ALL buildings need to conduct a lottery each year. If your child's home attendance building does not go over enrollment, all students will be placed into that building. However, we will not know the number of students until after mass registration is completed.

We recommend that you make every effort to register during the registration dates offered. Please bring all the required documents (see below). If your child’s registration is in compliance before March 31, 2016 it will be considered complete and included in the initial placement and any initial lottery.

After the end of the March registration, students will be assigned on a “first-come, first-served” basis to an elementary school closest to their home that has openings.

If your child will not be attending the school where he/she is registered, please notify the school office immediately. We will attempt to accommodate the next child on the waiting list.

Thank you in advance for your cooperation -- we look forward to meeting you and assisting in the registration of your child in the Pennridge School District.

We appreciate your cooperation in completing the online Infosnap registration process and bringing all required documentation with you at the time of your registration appointment. See below.

Proof of Residency

Three forms of proof of residency are required. This includes any official documentation that proves your district residency and includes your name and street address.

      • Current Utility Bill
      • Current Credit Card Bill
      • Current Bank Statement
      • Current Mortgage Statement

      • Current Voters Registration Card
      • Current Homeowners/Renters Insurance
      • Current Income Tax/W2
      • Post Office Change of Address Card
Please note that an Agreement of Sale does not prove residency and is not acceptable proof of residency. We also do not accept:  A driver’s license, cell phone bill or auto insurance as proof of residency
Birth Verification

An original state sealed birth certificate is required; however, we will also accept a valid passport. Please note that we do not accept souvenir certificates that come from the hospital or photocopies of originals.  If you do not have an original birth certificate for your child, you will need to obtain one prior to registration by contacting the Department of Vital Statistics in the state in which your child was born.

Immunization Records

A copy of your child’s complete immunization records must be brought with you on the day of registration. A list of the required immunizations to enter kindergarten can be found below.
Physical and dental exams are required for entrance into kindergarten, BUT not at the time of registration.  Please visit the FAQ section for kindergarten for complete instructions regarding physical and dental exams.
Parent Photo ID

A current valid Pennsylvania drivers license, passport, or state-issued Photo Identification Card that includes your signature.
Additional Forms That May Be Required

MULTIPLE OCCUPANCY: an application for Multiple Occupancy (link to form) will be required in cases where you and your child/children are residing with another family within the Pennridge School District under the same roof. This form must be completed, signed and notarized by both families before registration and will count as one form of proof of residency. More information about Multiple Occupancy.

GUARDIANSHIP QUESTIONNAIRE  In order to register a child you must be the legal parent/guardian of the child you are registering.
If you are not the legal parent you must provide the district with legal documentation to prove that you are this child's legal guardian. If the potential student is living, or will be living in a household of a school district resident who is not the natural parent or legal guardian but will assume responsibility for the student, the resident must complete this questionnaire.  Registration will not be considered until the District has reviewed and approved this questionnaire.  Upon review/approval, the Registration Office will provide a 1302 Affadavit to the undersigned resident and parent to complete, sign and notarize. More information about Guardianship.
Required Immunization Records:
  • Four basic doses of (DPT) Diphtheria, Pertussis (Whooping Cough), and Tetanus. (Please note that the fourth dose must be administered on or after the child’s fourth birthday.
  • Three doses of (OPV)or (IPV) Oral Polio Vaccine.
  • Three doses of Hepatitis B.
  • Two doses of (MMR) Measles, Mumps and German Measles (Rubella).
  • Two doses of Varivax (Varicella/Chicken Pox Vaccine) or proof of disease.
**Please note that even though two doses of MMR & Varicella are required to enter school in the fall,  your registration will be considered complete in March as long as your child has had at least the first dose.  The second dose is usually given at your child’s five-year check up which will be taking place during the summer prior to entrance in August.
Note to Parents...
Please do not bring your child with you to registration since they are not required to perform any type of academic skills to enter kindergarten; this appointment will be to process paperwork only. Your child will be given a speech and language evaluation and an eye examination after school starts. They will also have the opportunity to see their school and meet their teacher at orientation in the fall.
Your child's kindergarten registration is only considered complete after the online pre registration is submitted and you have  provided a completed list of your child’s immunizations, original documentation of birth and proof of residency.

If you are missing any of these items at the time of registration appointment your child will not be considered complete until the missing item/items are received.

If you have any questions concerning the documents required, assistance is available by calling the Student Registration Office at 215-453-2793.
