Today is DAY 3

October Theme – October’s “T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E.” theme is “Acceptance.”

Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from Franklin D. Roosevelt.  Franklin D. Roosevelt said, “If civilization is to survive, we must cultivate the science of human relationships – the ability of all people, of all kinds, to live together, in the same world at peace.”  Franklin D. Roosevelt was a privileged young man who was crippled by polio.  He knew that Americans had to accept his physical limitations and allow him to use his talents to lead the nation.

Cafeteria News – Today’s lunch entrees are:

  • Domino’s Pizza
  • Chicken Caesar Salad w/roll

South Sports News

·         Soccer

o   The varsity soccer team showed their best team effort yesterday in a hard fought 2-1 victory over Dock Mennonite.  Anna Croyle and Matt Atchley had the two goals. Atchley's was a nice header from a perfect corner from Oak Boone.  Liam Link led the defense along with Karissa Hufnagle and Izabela Baldovin.  Kylie Andersen had her best game of the season along with Luca Angello who was a beast at center mid.  JP Reyes, once again showed his value by playing multiple positions while Bradley Gunn and Kendall Fink proved worthy as midfielders and strikers.  A huge shout out to Tyler Manto who once again had clutch saves to seal the win on Maryn Drumbore's "wear blue" day.

    • The South JV 7th grade soccer team hosted Dock Academy on Tuesday afternoon.  The Rams were hoping to bounce back after last week’s tough loss to North.  The Rams played an all-around better team game with great communication and passing all over the field.  The Rams offense were unrelenting in the first half and it was only a matter of time before the Rams would find the back of the net.  South got on the board with a nice goal from Gabby Herrmann assisted by Ryan Wisniewski.  The Rams would continue to apply the pressure and would score their 2nd goal of the game right before the final whistle.  Evan Moyer would give the hosts some breathing room with assist provided by Herrmann.  Riley Williams and Kayla Rumley played solid throughout the game in midfield and were backed by strong defense by Erin Farr and Abby Hanson.  Anna Sparks, Chloe Chun, Erin Thorpe, Ryley Peloquin, and Ryan Nagy also contributed greatly in a variety of positions.  Finally, Tyler Wolfgang played a solid game at keeper and preserved the shut-out with some key saves.  The Rams go on the road to face Pennfield on Thursday afternoon.
