Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from J. K. Rowling.  J. K. Rowling said, “Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”  There are many examples of acceptance between different groups and species in the Harry Potter series.  Can you think of one?

Magazine Drive News – Our 2nd turn in day for South’s Fundraiser is Friday, October 11th.  This will be your last chance to earn the cool prizes listed on the flyer!  Remember to work SMART, not hard!  See you Friday!


Wellness News – Mr. Bosler and Mrs. Welsh’s wellness classes should report today as follows:

  • 6th grade – report to room #201
  • 7th grade – report to room #201
  • 8th grade – report to the gym

·         Orchestra News – BCMEA String Day forms are due to Miss Guarriello by this Friday, October 11th for any orchestra member interested in attending.


Cheer Clinic News – Anyone interested in attending the high school cheer clinic on Saturday, October 12th, should pick up a flyer located outside the gym on the cheer bulletin board.


SMYLE Shoppe News – SMYLE Shoppe is open during CP11 on Tuesday and Thursday.  So, if you are looking for school supplies with a hint of fun, stop in room #103 in the 7th grade hallway.  Prices range from .25¢ to $3.50.  Plan a stop in the SMYLE Shoppe today!


Reading Olympics – Our first Reading Olympics meeting for 6th & 7th grade will be held this Thursday during lunches.  If you are interested in participating in Reading Olympics this year, but have not signed up yet, please sign up in the library.  The 8th grade Reading Olympics meeting will be held next Tuesday, October 15th.


ScareMail?Are you looking for something to get your special ghost or ghoul?  Then ScareMail is for you!  ScareMail is a small treat bag that you can buy for your friends or yourself to be delivered on Halloween to homerooms.  ScareMail is 1 for $2.00 or 3/$5.00 and can be pre-ordered starting on Monday, October 7th before homeroom or during CP11 in room #103 or at the SMYLE Shoppe on Tuesday or Thursday.


Walk to Make a Difference News – The FOR (Friends of Rachel) Club invites everyone to join us in the “Walk to Make a Difference” on November 2nd at 2:00PM at the Bucks County Community College Perkasie Campus.  Our team name is “South Kindness Carriers”.  You may register on South’s home page.  This event raises funds and awareness for suicide prevention and if you donate $10.00, you can get an event t-shirt.  It would be awesome if you could join us!  If you have any questions, please see a FOR Club member or advisor.


Boxtops are Back! – It's that time of year again when you should start bringing in Boxtops labels to win your homeroom a doughnut party.  Find as many Boxtops to give to your homeroom teachers as you can before the contest ends on October 25th.  ALL homerooms to turn in 400 valid Boxtops will earn their homeroom a doughnut party.  Thank you and good luck.


  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When dropping off/picking up students/forgotten items, PLEASE do not park in the NO PARKING/FIRE ZONE area near the main office entrance.
    • Due to bus traffic and student safety, please park on the street between the hours of 7:00AM – 8:00AM, and 2:00PM – 3:00PM.  Otherwise, you may park in the designated parking spaces in the parking lot.  Thank you!
  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When calling in your child’s absence, please remember to call the voice mail line at 215-257-0469 (ext. 991008).  Thank you!
  • Attn Students:  ALL students should be entering the building in the morning through the doors near the cafeteria. DO NOT enter through the front doors near the bike rack.
  • Please remind your parents they are not to enter the front lot where the buses drop off between 7:00-8:15AM.  If your parent or guardian is dropping you off between these times, they should let you out at the 5th Street curb.
  • Also, no students should be entering through the front doors before 7:45AM.
  • All Students and staff are reminded - DO NOT open building doors for anyone.  All guests should be directed to enter thru the secure vestibule at the front of the building.
