Today is DAY 4

September Theme – October’s “T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E.” theme is “acceptance.”

Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from J. K. Rowling.  J. K. Rowling said, “Understanding is the first step to acceptance, and only with acceptance can there be recovery.”  J.K. Rowling is the author of the Harry Potter series.  Her work encouraged the acceptance of others, as seen in the struggle for muggles, to be accepted in the magical world.

Magazine Drive News – We had an incredible first turn in day for our fundraiser, selling over $31,000 worth of orders!  Homeroom captains are distributing ducks today for the orders that were turned in last Wednesday!  They also have a prize sheet so check with them to see if you earned the BINGO party or the VIP Eagles field trip!  Over 80 students will be traveling to the Linc on October 26th!  So far, 9 parents have also earned this reward.  Remember, 25 orders will earn a ticket for your parent and many of you only need a few more orders to reach this goal!  Please let you parents know that they DO NOT need clearances to attend this field trip.  Tomorrow is the 2nd turn-in day for the Magazine/Cookie Dough Fundraiser.  Remember to bring your orders to score lots of prizes and win our challenges.  Ms. Knouse’s homeroom has the greatest participation rate but not by much.  If just one or two more students in your homeroom participate, then your homeroom might have the greatest participation rate and therefor everyone in your HR will earn Skittles.  Good luck and see you tomorrow.
