Today is DAY 2

April Theme - April’s “T.A.K.E.S.  P.R.I.D.E.” theme is “initiative.”

Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from Benjamin Franklin.  Benjamin Franklin said, “One today is worth two tomorrows.”  Some of Franklin’s inventions included the lightening rod, Franklin stove, bifocals, carriage odometer and glass harmonica.  He took the initiative and used each day to get started.  Taking initiative means using your time wisely.

PSSA Prep – In preparation for the upcoming Math PSSA testing on April 25th, 26th, and 28th, students are reminded of the following requirements for PSSA success:

  • Students should make sure to get enough rest, eat a healthy breakfast, and be on time for school each day.
  • Students will need two #2 sharpened pencils, a calculator, and a silent reading book on testing days.
  • Cell phones and other electronic devices are NOT PERMITTED and should NOT be in your possession during testing.
  • Do your best and good luck to everyone.

Dress Code Reminder - Students:  With warmer weather approaching, please be reminded of our dress code rules (refer to page 7 of your agenda rules and guidelines).  We have relaxed our dress code rules regarding ripped jeans and leggings, however, that does not mean specific guidelines do not apply.  Shorts, skirts, and dresses should be no shorter than fingertip length.  Spaghetti straps and halters are not permitted.  Ripped jeans are acceptable, provided the rips are BELOW fingertip length on the thigh.  Rips ABOVE fingertip length require that you have leggings under the jeans.  Gaping holes in jeans are not acceptable.  Leggings are acceptable provided the leggings are reasonably covered by a tunic, dress, skirt, etc.  This guideline is necessary since some leggings are made of extremely thin material and do not provide adequate body coverage.  Non-compliance with this guideline means that the student will need to call home and have appropriate attire delivered before the student may return to class.  We are willing to work together with our students regarding dress code guidelines, but you must work with us as well and use good judgement.  Our teachers and staff would rather not send students to the office for dress code violations, so if you don’t challenge the dress code, we can all focus on more important things; your education.  Thank you!

  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When dropping off/picking up students/forgotten items, PLEASE do not park in the NO PARKING/FIRE ZONE area near the main office entrance.
    • Due to bus traffic and student safety, please park on the street between the hours of 7:00AM – 8:00AM, and 2:00PM – 3:00PM.  Otherwise, you may park in the designated parking spaces in the parking lot.  Thank you!
  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When calling in your child’s absence, please remember to call the voice mail line at 215-257-0469 (press 4 or ext. 1008).  Thank you!
  • Attn. Students:  ALL students should be entering the building in the morning through the doors near the cafeteria. DO NOT enter through the front doors near the bike rack.

  • All Students and staff are reminded - DO NOT open building doors for anyone.  All guests should be directed to enter thru the secure vestibule at the front of the building.
