Today is DAY 1

September Theme – September’s “T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E.” theme is “trustworthiness.”

Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from Henry Stimson.  Henry Stimson said, “The only way to make a man trustworthy is to trust him.”  If you want people to trust you, you have to prove you are an honorable person.  Students, it is so important to be brave and always do and say the right things.  Do the right thing, even when people want you to do bad things.  And remember; be good all the time.  Being trustworthy is not easy, but it definitely feels good.

Rita’s Water Ice Night – The SCN welcomes South students and staff back to a new school year!  To kick off the school year right, come on out tomorrow night, September 8th from 5:30-8:30PM to the Rita’s in Perkasie at 7th & Market St. for a delicious treat!  A percentage of the proceeds will benefit South MS.  Come on out and have an “ICE” evening and be on the lookout for some familiar faces when you place your order!  Hope to see everyone there!

Music News -

  • Band News – Attention 7th & 8th grade band members:
    • Your music and permission slips are ready for Middle School Band Night.  The game is just a couple of weeks away, so we will be working on that music in your lessons and rehearsals until that performance.  Please report to the band room today during CP11 to get your copy!  We will go over that music during your lessons next week, and we will practice it during CP11 on Wednesday next week also.
    • Jazz Band audition packets are available in the band room.  Anyone interested in trying out for Jazz Band should see Mr. Morris to get a copy of the audition packet.
    • Don’t forget to turn in your band sign-up papers!  You can drop them off with your homeroom teacher or stop by the band room and give them to Mr. Morris.
  • Choir News
    • Any 8th grade student interested in signing up for Choir should place their signed Choir contract in the folder outside Miss Krall’s room by Monday, September 11th.  8th graders needing information about Choir or a contract can see Miss Krall or take a brochure from the music stand outside the Choir room.
    • Chorale auditions will take place during CP11 beginning on Thursday, September 7th.  Students interested in auditioning must sign up for an audition time.  More information may be found outside Miss Krall’s room.

Friday Night Football – This Friday night is a home football game at the high school.  If you are planning on attending and would like to purchase a student ticket early for $4.00, see Mr. Renner.  He will be selling them during lunches on Friday.  Remember, you can only purchase a ticket for yourself, not your family or friends.  Any questions, see Mr. Renner.
