Quote of the Day – This week’s quote is from Henry Stimson.  Henry Stimson said, “The only way to make a man trustworthy is to trust him.”  It is important that you trust the people that you know and care about. You should give your friends a chance to prove they are trustworthy to you.

 

Cafeteria News – Today’s lunch entrees are:

  • Mozzarella Sticks w/sauce
  • Spicy Chicken Patty Sandwich

 

Picture Day News - School picture day is next Wednesday!  If you are interested in purchasing a photo package, please give the completed envelope with money enclosed to the photographer on picture day or see the online ordering information on the photo envelopeEven if you are not purchasing a photo package, you still need to report to the photographer at your designated time to have your picture taken!  Additional photo envelopes are available on the counter in the main office.

 

Music News -

  • Band News – Any student who missed the band sign-up meeting should report to the band room immediately after announcements today.
  • Orchestra News7th & 8th grade string students will meet TODAY in room #109 immediately after PM announcements.
  • Choir News – 8th graders interested in joining choir are reminded to put their sign-up forms in the envelope outside Miss Krall’s room.  Students needing a form should see Miss Krall.  Rehearsal beings Monday!

 

South Fall Sports News

  • Cheerleading – Cheerleader physical forms are due.  You may not attend Monday’s practice without your completed physical form.  Turn your surveys and your physical forms into Mrs. Welsh.
  • Sports Lockers – 7th & 8th grade students who are playing a fall sports:  You are entitled to a big locker in the locker rooms.  Please see a Wellness teacher before or after school to sign up for a locker.  Be sure to provide your own lock.  Locks will have to be taken off at the end of the season.  Thank you!

 

Library News - The library is open today!

  • Visit the library to borrow your first books of the school year.  Remember, you must have a pass to visit the library.
  • If you borrowed books for the summer months, please return your books to the library this week.

 

Wellness News – Students who are interested in purchasing a South MS gym uniform are encouraged to check out the sample uniforms hanging outside of the main office.  If you cannot determine your size by looking at the samples, you may try on the samples.  If you need assistance, see Mrs. Marx or Mrs. Lyons in the main office.

 

Open House/Back to School Night - Open House/Back to School Night for parents/guardians is next Tuesday, September 10th at South MS.  The evening begins promptly at 5:45PM.  Parents/guardians should be in their child’s homeroom by that time.

 

Rita’s Water Ice Night – The SCN welcomes South students and staff back to a new school year!  To kick off the school year right, come on out Friday, September 13th from 6:00 - 9:00PM to the Rita’s in Perkasie at 7th & Market St. for a delicious treat!  A percentage of the proceeds will benefit South MS.  Come on out and have an “ICE” evening and be on the lookout for some familiar faces when you place your order!  Hope to see everyone there!

 

REMINDER

  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When dropping off/picking up students/forgotten items, PLEASE do not park in the NO PARKING/FIRE ZONE area near the main office entrance.
    • Due to bus traffic and student safety, please park on the street between the hours of 7:00AM – 8:00AM, and 2:00PM – 3:00PM.  Otherwise, you may park in the designated parking spaces in the parking lot.  Thank you!
  • Attn. Parents/Guardians:  When calling in your child’s absence, please remember to call the voice mail line at 215-257-0469 (ext. 991008).  Thank you!
  • Attn Students:  ALL students should be entering the building in the morning through the doors near the cafeteria. DO NOT enter through the front doors near the bike rack.
  • Please remind your parents they are not to enter the front lot where the buses drop off between 7:00-8:15AM.  If your parent or guardian is dropping you off between these times, they should let you out at the 5th Street curb.
  • Also, no students should be entering through the front doors before 7:45AM.
  • All Students and staff are reminded - DO NOT open building doors for anyone.  All guests should be directed to enter thru the secure vestibule at the front of the building.
