Daily Announcements for Friday – May 12, 2017

Today is DAY 2

 May Theme - May’s “T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E.” theme is “dependability.”

Quote of the DayThis week’s quote is from Theodore Roosevelt.  Theodore Roosevelt said, “Far and away the best prize that life offers is the chance to work hard at work worth doing.”  You can be dependable by doing what is expected of you before your parents or teachers need to remind you to do it.  Dependable people do not depend on others for reminders.  They prioritize and keep their commitments.

Softball News:  The varsity girls’ softball team beat Strayer yesterday 5-1.  Brielle Yencha did a great job hitting, had a play at first on a bunt and had a quick glove.  Erin Leight had 2 singles and caught a ball that was over her head.  Liv Ferraro did a great job at first base.  Mackenzie Owens hit a triple and showed off her skillful catching skills, making pitching calls and guarding the plate.  Chloe Coughenour had 10 strikeouts on the mound and a triple.  Her pitching yesterday won over the crowd!  Thank you Maddie Clemens for playing with us.  There is no practice today but we have our last game at home on Monday verse Central.

The JV softball team lost a hard fought game against Quakertown’s Strayer, 24-18.  The team played short-handed, Jane Lafty recorded 2 strikeouts and 5 RBIs.  Catcher, Bailey Winter stole bases with aggression.  Taryn McHugh had 4 runs from the lead-off spot.  The outfield was Katrina Eldrige and Mya Giordiano who got on base every at bat.  Emily Scanlon played through a had hit line drive at SS.  She also had 3 RBIs.  Isabel Wieglus held down first base with impressive glove playing.  Haley Elis, playing 3rd, had a triple saving catch to end a rally for Q’town.  The next game is Monday, home at blood rival, Central.

From Math Dept:  All Algebra 1 students need to come to school both Monday and Tuesday next week prepared for the Keystone test with a calculator and 2 #2 pencils.

Mrs. Pletz – Ms. Pletz’s CP1, CP2, CP4, and CP6/7 classes are to report to Room 109 today.  Period 3 will meet in the classroom.
