Our T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. theme of the month is “Trustworthiness.”

This week’s quote is from Golda Meir.

 

Golda Meir said, “Trust yourself.  Create the kind of self that you will be happy to live with all your life.  Make the most of yourself by fanning the tiny, inner sparks of possibility into flames of achievement.”  Golda Meir was Israel’s first woman prime minister and only the third woman to hold such an office.  She trusted in her abilities to lead a nation even though women did not typically hold these positions.

We celebrate Constitution Day on September 17 to commemorate the signing of the U.S. Constitution and to learn more about our founding document that “We the People” enjoy today.

             Our T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. theme of the month is “Trustworthiness.”  This week’s quote is from Barack Obama. 

 

Barack Obama said, “If the people cannot trust their government to do the job for which it exists – to protect them and to promote their common welfare – all else is lost.”   Barack Obama is an American politician who served as the 44th President of the United States from 2009 to 2017.  Trust in the government is one of the American ideals.  The government is trusted with the welfare of the people.

Homework club will start Tuesday, September 18th and will run Tuesdays and Thursdays from 3-4.  A bus is available for transportation home or someone must pick up by 4 p.m

 

 

To all String Students

String Ensemble will begin Tuesday 11th period in the Aud., 6th grader strings, you will need your instrument.

 

String lessons will also begin next week so don't forget to check the schedules for your group, day and time. If you have any questions please stop by and Mrs. Stanell in Room 103.

 

 

Attention all 7th and 8th grade band students – we will be having a middle school band night practice

Tuesday, 9/18 during 11th period in the band room – be sure to be there if your parent has not told Mr. Vollberg that you are not coming to this awesome event!”

Booker T. Washington said, “Few things can help an individual more than to place responsibility on him, and to let him know that you trust him.”  After graduating from college and becoming a teacher, Booker T. Washington founded Tuskegee University in Alabama, which became one of the leading schools in the country under his leadership.  Washington showed that he could be trusted with this enormous responsibility and his success still exists today.

If you borrowed library books over the summer, please make sure you return them to the library by the end of the week to avoid fines!  If you have books that need to go to a sending elementary school, bring them to the library and we will get them back to the right school.

Reminder to all students regarding forgotten/missing items:   Please take the responsibility to stop by the office to check for forgotten items even if you did not call home as your parent may have been kind enough to drop it off for you.

                                                            Sports equipment

 

                                                            Lunches – look for your forgotten lunch in the café as you enter

from the library hallway.

 

Parent Open House is tonight and will begin at 6:00 pm in your homeroom.  Please make sure you parent knows your homeroom number and teacher name.
