Every day there is a new tomorrow.  So do not wait for tomorrow to get here.  Take the initiative now to achieve your goals.

Pennridge HS will be hosting free girls volleyball clinics for any 6th to 8th grade girls interested in learning and playing the sport of Volleyball.  Anyone is welcome to come and check out the sport.

Ø  Tuesdays from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm in the white gym

Ø  April 10th and going through May 15th (6 total)

 

 

The Girls High School Soccer Team – all current 8th graders interested in playing soccer

Ø  Informational meeting for parents and students

Ø  Monday, April 23 at 6:00 at the high school in room LGI 3.1

Band lessons are adjusted today as follows:

Groups Q and R – which are the drummers for Symphonic Band – will be at 2nd period

Groups A and B – which are the flute players for Symphonic Band – will be at 3rd period

              

Period 8/9 & 10:  PSSA Assembly, Aud.

Our T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. theme of the month is “Initiative.”  This week’s quote is from Benjamin Franklin.  Benjamin Franklin said, “One today is worth two tomorrows.”

Some of Franklin’s inventions included the lightening rod, Franklin stove, bifocals, carriage odometer and glass harmonica.  He took the initiative and used each day to get started.  Taking initiative means using your time wisely.

Pennridge High School Marching Rams 2018 – 19 Season – All 8th grade students who are interested in joining the Marching Rams or Color Guard are encouraged to attend the Annual Marching Band Kickoff Event on Monday, April 23rd from 6:00 – 8:30 PM in the PHS Band Room.  Meet Mr. Feher and the Marching Band staff along with many new friends.  Parents are invited at 8:00 PM for a special informational meeting with Mr. Feher.  Please contact Mr. Feher at PHS with any questions.

Benjamin Franklin is a model of initiative.  He was successful in many fields:  printer, scientist, politician, inventor, musician and author.  When he had an idea, he took the initiative to make it happen.

Talent Show:  Do you have a talent for telling jokes or juggling while riding a unicycle? Do you love tosing, dance or play an instrument?  Do you have your own rock band?  Or perhaps you are great in front of a crowd and would love to introduce the talent and be one of our MC’s.

Well it’s time to start brushing up your act and sign up for the talent show auditions outside of Ms. King’s room.  Come join the fun!

From Mrs. Sterling:  On Monday, April 30th, all the way from the state of Washington, author Dan Gemeinhart  will  be visiting North Middle School.  Many students have already read and loved his books The Honest Truth, Some Kind of Courage, and Scar Island.  Last week, his newest title, Good Dog was released.  Forms for ordering books for author signing are available in the library and will be due at the end of this week.   Stop by the library and pick one up today!         (Author’s name pronounced with emphasis on second syllable – Ge MINE hart)

P.R.I.D.E. theme of the month is “Initiative.”  This week’s quote is from Chris Evert.  Chris Evert said, “You’ve got to take the initiative and play your game…confidence makes the difference.”  Chris Evert played her first senior tournament at the age of 14 and reached the semi-finals; this is the furthest a player of her age had ever advanced.  It took initiative and hard work for Chris to attain that goal at such a young age.

Dear students,

I just want to wish all those taking the PSSA over the next few weeks much success!  The PSSA is a test that shows your level of achievement and that of your school on state standards.  I am confident that the Pennridge students will demonstrate the T.A.K.E.S. P.R.I.D.E. themes of “perseverance,” “initiative” and “dependability” to try their best and to make themselves, their families and their schools very proud.  Good luck!

Attention all current 8th to 11th grade girls interested in joining the Pennridge High School cheer team for the 2018-19 school year.

 

Open gyms will be held at 5PM in the Green Gym on Wed, April 11th, Monday, April 16th, Wed, April 25th, and Wed, May 2nd.

 

Tumbling open gyms are held every Thursday at Montco Gymnastics and Cheer from

4:45 to 6PM.

 

No cheer experience necessary, just a desire to work hard!!
